Father's Day Gift Guide: 2020

Some of the links below are affiliate links. Thank you for supporting Southern & Style by using these links at no additional cost to you.
Y'all, these are some wild times that we are living in!
I kind of dropped off the face of the blogging world in March, but to be honest I didn't quite know what to share here. 2020 just keeps throwing punches at us, doesn't it?

I'm thankful to still be pushing through & finding solace on our farm, working together daily as a family and keeping our routines despite the madness that's going on around us.

Today is all about the upcoming celebration of the men in our lives; not only our actual father's, but I think father's day is a great day to thank any influential man in your life-grandfathers, uncles, mentors, etc.
I'm also sure that if the men in your life are anything like the men in mine, then they don't actually need or want a single thing...but ima get them something anyway, right?! ?
Here are a couple of ideas that I found and gathered up for you. . .
You've probably heard of a stout with coffee notes in it, but I had never heard of coffee with beer notes in it before this one! It comes in a few different flavors and would be a great gift for the coffee drinker in your life.
There are tons of different cities available in these rocks glasses, so it would be fun to start a collection for cities he has visited or buy him a set for the city he loves or the one he lives in.
It seems like everyone & their mom (or in this case, dad) has AirPods now and with such an investment, you want to make sure they have a case...even better to have a personalized case so they don't get confused with anyone else's.
This beautiful black, stainless steel watch will make sure Dad is never late again. Or if he is, at least he'll be fashionably late.
If he's tired of his drink getting watered down, these stainless steel ice cubes are a must.
Toss them in the freezer, throw them in your glass with your favorite drink and never worry about ice watering down your beverage again.
If you have a hunter or fisherman in your life, this cookbook is a must to keep them out of their cooking ruts. It has beautiful illustrations in it as well!
Everybody needs a good portable speaker for summertime, weather you are at the pool, the lake, down by the grill, or working in the garage, this speaker will keep the music rolling loud and clear.
Smoked Bacon Salt
I have heard so many people rave about bacon salt & think it would be a great gift idea for any guy in your life that likes to cook! This is great to season all types of meat as well as for rimming bloody mary glasses, too.
Yootech Wireless Charging Pad
If he has wireless charging compatible AirPods or an iPhone, do yourself a favor and pick him up this affordable wireless charging pad!
I have this and love it because I don't have to worry about those crappy iPhone charging cords anymore, I just lay my phone down at night and it charges-easy peasy.
Personalized Baseball Leather Travel Pouch
I'm a big fan of giving dopp kits as gifts because every guy needs one & not every guy has one.
This is such a great place to corral all of those travel sized products and then he can just grab it and be ready for a trip at a moment's notice!
This particular bag can be personalized with his monogram and is made from the same leather that is used to make baseball gloves.
Dog Blueprint
If any of the guys in your life are as obsessed with their dogs as I am with mine, then they need this blueprint for their office for sure.
This comes in tons of different dog breeds and is beautifully crafted & framed.
Yeti LoadOut GoBox 30
This waterproof & dustproof box isn't your average Yeti cooler.
It's not a cooler at all, but a storage box which would be great for any of your outdoorsmen!

I hope this was helpful & you're able to treat all the men in your lives to a little something nice to show your appreciation.

Until next time. . .

7 Books You Should Read This Spring

Some of the links below are affiliate links. Thank you for using these in support of Southern & Style at no additional cost to you!
Hey friends!
It's crazy to think that I haven't been in this space since the beginning of March, but the world has been in such a different place I honestly wasn't sure what to share. When this all started, I didn't want to push products because honestly, who has the money to spend recklessly right now. But as I feel like we are on a upward trend (although nowhere near out of the woods yet), I would like to come back to this corner of the internet and start sharing things with y'all again!
My last book post was back in October & I've been dying to share with y'all the books that I have read over the past few months-there have been so many good ones, so let's jump in.

This book was a loaner from my mom & sister, but as a huge Pioneer Woman fan I just had to read it!
Ree is an awesome writer, she's able to capture the reader and really make you feel like a friend.
This book is all about her journey of meeting her husband & all the mishaps that led to their beautiful relationship. It left me wanting a second book really badly!
If you're a fan of hers at all (or just love funny romance books) you should pick this one up. If they have it as an audiobook, I think it would be a good listen.
I am always a proponent of picking out books at the thrift store by their name & covers, because when I'm only paying $1 for a book, I'm willing to take a chance.
This was a chance well taken!
It's about four women during WWII and the story is told from each of their points of view which makes for a captivating read.
I loved that this book covered all types of women & how they were able to help the war effort & in turn, how the war changed them in different ways. It was a powerful novel that I really enjoyed and think lots of women should read!
Another historical novel, this one is a story about ex-soldier Evan, who through a heroic act finds the favor of the Prince Regent & is given his god-daughter, Diana in marriage as well as a massive estate (& her massive inheritance). Though Diana has been mistreated by her father & brother her entire life, she is able to find the good in this arrangement & in her husband.
It's got suspense, drama, murder, and beautiful imagery (which is a must for me!) and I think there is going to be a second book, which I cannot wait to read.
If you love English history, this one is a must read...heck, if you just enjoy a good slightly suspenseful romance, you should read it!
If you're interested in winning a copy of this book for yourself, you can find a giveaway for it here:

Classic, classic Nicholas Sparks-but I found a copy at the thrift store a while back and had to pick it up because I had never actually read it!
It was a very quick read and left me in tears, which all Nicholas Sparks books do, but in the best way possible.
This is a book with characters that makes you think twice about your parents and their private lives...and how we think about them.
I absolutely love Elin Hilderbrand, she's right up there beside Sparks as my favorite novelist. Her books are interesting and some of them suspenseful.
This one in particular kept me guessing right up until the end which I always enjoy and the setting of Nantucket is always a favorite.
This book takes place at a Nantucket estate where a large wedding is set to take place, however the morning of the wedding-someone is found dead at the estate, which obviously sets off a chain of events that unravel throughout the course of the book.
It's a good one that is told through several different characters point of views-which I always enjoy!
I have read a few of Emily Giffin's books before and they are always really, really good-I should read them more often! But this one had a really nice cover and it sucked me in at the thrift store so I was glad that I didn't pass it up! In fact, after going through so many of these books that I picked up thrifting...I wish I could go now!
Anywho, this book takes place between two different women, who through a terrible accident both end up having access (and eventually relationships) with one man...and that man is married to one of the women.
I have to admit, it was a little hard to read because infidelity is tough for me. I hated how one character was rationalizing it and I honestly hated how easy it seemed for the husband to live two lives. But, I will say that the ending seemed to leave something to be desired, it left me wishing for a sequel that will probably never come.
Another excellent, excellent Elin Hilderbrand novel!
This one is about a wife & mother who's world completely goes topsy-turvy when she receives a phone call that her husband was in an accident...and wasn't where he said he would be for work.
She and her two sons have to voyage from Iowa City to St. John to unfurl their husband & father's secret life that he had been hiding for years.
There is a sequel to this coming out in September and I'm dying to get my hands on it already-I love the beautiful imagery of the islands and I absolutely love the side storylines that have formed and can't wait to see where she takes the second book, very exciting!

I hope that y'all are able to scroll through these short reviews & find a book that sparks your fancy, because this is an excellent time to settle down, cuddle up, and read a new book since we're spending a lot of time at home.
I do have one suggestion since we're unable to go to thrift stores right now; if you click on any of those links above it will take you to the Amazon shop page for those books. There are always used options on Amazon & sometimes for 75% off or more! Definitely check those out if you're thinking of purchasing :)

Until next time. . .

Ten on Tuesday [No.65]

Some of the links below are affiliate links. Thank you for supporting Southern & Style at no additional cost to you, by using these links!
Y'all, we are finally into March & I honestly just feel like this year is going to snowball from this point forward and we'll be into Summertime and then Fall and Christmastime will be here before we even know what happens-time just flies as you get older!
There are so many good things I want to share with you in this roundup, so let's jump right on in.
A moment I've waited a long, long time for finally arrived last month. . .
Charlie's first ride!
The video is only 21 seconds long and it's so sweet, I recommend listening with the volume on.
Charlie has technically been on a horse before, but never really by himself like this and never ridden around. He was just thrilled and since then, every time we're at my parents (where I currently keep my horses) he wants to go see the horses and pet them and really, really wants to ride again.
Living. The. Dream. Y'all!
Our little family got to have a mini getaway a few weekends ago to Mobile for the Alabama Young Farmers Conference and it was just so much fun!
This was the second year we were able to have Charlie there & taking him along and making those memories is just so special to us-we love raising him around the Farmer's Federation events.
Of course we stopped at Priester's along the way!

Former Auburn Coach Tommy Tuberville is the Farmer's Federation FARMPAC endorsed candidate, so we snapped a quick picture alongside him at the conference. He's a really cool guy that we're glad we have gotten the opportunity to know better and to support for AL senate.
Riverfront rooms are just the BEST!
Also peep his cute propped up foot-I just could cuddle him forever, y'all!
We loved the family time, of course, but we also were so thankful to get together with some of our friends that we only see at Federation events, meet new friends, tour some really interesting agricultural operations, and network with other people in our field that have the same heartbreaks and successes that we have!
I love to watch Jenna & Hoda on tv in the mornings when I can, they just have such a cute dynamic and I love so many of the stories they share on their show.
One of my most recent favorites is when they shared the Instagram account Accidental Icon.
She is a beautiful, older woman who used to be a college professor & was once accidentally mistaken as a model and the paparazzi began photographing her.
After that happened she started her website/instagram and became a true Icon!
She is beautiful and such an inspiration!
Alabama's weather has been so strange lately, with cold snaps & then super warm temps, plus all the rain that we have had to contend with. I'm not complaining about the warmer weather though because we have gotten to enjoy some time outside playing without having to be bundled up.
We've even had some flowers blooming & lots of growth in the hayfields so we are loving it!
P.S. Doesn't Charlie look like such a big boy in the pic above?!
Another fun thing we got to take Charlie to do last month was the trade show at the Alabama Cattlemen's Convention!
There we were able to network and visit with our friends from all over the state, but Charlie also just had a complete ball playing on the John Deere equipment and horsing around with the chutes and panels.
We took Charlie to the zoo a few weekends ago (& also to the state capital which was so fun!) and y'all, he enjoyed it SO much.
The tiger was his (& my) favorite, and since we went on a Sunday there was no one there. We were able to sit and just watch the tiger for the longest time, Charlie didn't want to leave him!
This was technically Charlie's second time to the polls to vote with us, but this time he was big enough to get a sticker. We love sharing the democratic process with him and teaching him how important it is to have a voice in politics!
There has been lots of horse activity going on around here because the weather is getting a little bit better & Charlie is getting old enough now to really enjoy them, so I've been able to get back to it a little bit more.
I even jumped on Willow the other day after Charlie's ride. I was so sore for the next few days ? but it was worth it!
Charlie has had tons of farm fun lately; from splashing in puddles to climbing up on the back of my truck (with help, of course!)

Just had to do a quick photo-dump of some of the cutest pics of Charlie since my last Ten on Tuesday post!
Sitting on the toolbox like a teenage guy.
Waiting on a bale of hay while Daddy changes a tire...also War Eagle!
And then sitting in the cotton seed while all of his friends eat it ?
He's already trying to fill his Daddy's boots-slow down, sweet boy!

Until next time. . .

March Goals

Y'all, can we just discuss how January was the longest month ever & then February rolled over me like a freight train?! It went by SO fast!
Let's see how I did with February's goals. . .
Read Two Books
Well...I read one, so I guess I halfway accomplished this.
I also started a second book, but just didn't put a ton of effort into finishing it.
Clear All Donation Boxes out of the Garage
I was able to get two of the boxes out of the garage, but I still have three more that need to leave ASAP.
My husband was going to have someone come & get them, but we just decided to drop them off at our local thrift store so next time I'm in town doing grocery pickup I will run them by there.
We also cleared an older recliner out of our basement & it will be out of the garage as soon as Chris' brother comes to pick it up. Yay for freeing up space!
Get Caught Up on Office Work
I was able to finish alllll of our invoicing thus-far and all of our bills are paid up...until I check the mail this afternoon ?
Categorize All of January & February for our Banking
Yes to getting this done! In fact, I'm caught up as of yesterday because I worked on March yesterday morning. No one tell my husband he was right, but it really is a lot easier when you do it weekly or bi-weekly ?
Enjoy Ourselves at the Alabama Cattlemen's Convention, National Wild Turkey Federation Banquet, & Alabama Young Farmer's Conference
We had a super busy month with lots of fun stuff to do, but we truly enjoyed each thing.
Charlie went with us to Cattlemen's & Young Farmer's and we just made so many sweet memories with him that I hope I'll never forget. I'll definitely recap those the next time I publish a Ten on Tuesday!
Chris & I also turned the NWTF banquet into a mini date night and that's always really nice, just to have a few hours for just us.

In March, I want to. . .
Finish Shopping for Most of Charlie's Spring/Summer Clothes
I have already gone to one consignment sale & my friend & I are planning on hitting another one up (& going to a children's consignment store) so hopefully that will knock out most of his wardrobe. I know I will still pick up a few things here and there from pre-order and resale grounds on FB but I would love the majority of it to come from these consignment places.
Read Two Books
I feel a lot more comfortable putting the number two down for this month because I started a book two days ago & haven't been able to put it down and I also have started another already (from the end of February). Maybe I'll even get three in, but I'm not going to get crazy ?
Organize my Digital Files
My poor MacBook & iPhone are just overloaded with pictures and files and have been for some time.
I finally broke down and bought an external hard drive and will be probably also upgrading iCloud storage so I can double-store everything.
I have so, so many pictures and just don't want to lose any of them but it also doesn't seem reasonable to print every single picture I have.
Try Two New Recipes
We just loaded up our fridge with a half of a pig that we bought, so I'm excited to infuse some pork recipes into our meals. But I'm also always researching new ways to use the beef from our freezer too. If you have any good beef recipes, please leave them below-especially for ground beef!
Wash Makeup Brushes
I am the worst about washing my brushes, but I will say I don't wear makeup every single day so that maybe makes it a little bit better?
Anywho, I want to at least wash them once this month. It honestly doesn't take too long since I bought this. It's only $5 on Amazon and has completely changed the game with brush washing.
I think I can definitely make this one happen!

Let me know down below what one of your monthly goals are-we can inspire each other!
Until next time. . .

February Goals

Happy February, friends!
I am proud to say that I was able to make a big dent in my goals for the month of January...let's recap:
Finish Tax Prep
I have finished my part of tax prep (itemizing everything and making sure Chris has everything he needs to get it all organized for our accountant). We should be able to finish up really soon!
Organize some of the boxes in our garage
My sister came over one day in January and helped me tackle part of the boxes in our garage and I have made a huge dent in this project!
I have two boxes (plus a box upstairs) that need to go out as donations, and then two or three boxes of teaching supplies that I'm giving to a sweet friend who is in school to be a teacher so those will all be gone really soon. Then I just need to organize everything that is left into plastic tubs and give them a place against the wall in our garage and we'll have a lot more room in there!
Research & make a list of what I'd like to plant for Spring
I'm going to call this one partially done, because I didn't make a paper list of what I want to plant this Spring, but Chris & I had a conversation about what we're planning on planting in a vegetable garden and I have been planning what I'll be doing for our house too. I'm definitely doing zinnias and maybe some knockout roses, some more herbs, and of course just my pretty planters filled with florals and some hanging baskets.
I'm adding four more planters this year on our patio, so we'll be up to 12 planters, plus hanging baskets, and anything I plant in the yard. I'm excited!

So since I'm on such a roll for the year, I hope to keep that going in February and tackle three more goals:
Read Two Books
I know this isn't a lot for some people, but I don't have much time to sit down and get into books lately. I've started one that is a little slow, but I think I'll like it when I get into it. Overall, I'd like to finish two books this month.
Clear All Donation Boxes out of the Garage
Since I made such headway on my garage goal last month, I'd like to get those 6 boxes cleaned out and to their new homes this month. That will really help me snowball the rest of the garage clean out!
Get Caught Up on Office Work
My husband & I have our farm & a small trucking business, I have let myself get a bit behind on invoicing and such, so I would love to get all of those things caught up before the end of the month.
Categorize All of January & February for our Banking
Last month, to complete my portion of our tax prep I had to go through and categorize all of our debits and credits to our bank accounts to make sure everything was categorized for taxes. In hopes of not having to do that all in one week next year, I'm trying to stay on top of it month by month this year, so I would love to make sure I'm caught up on that.
Enjoy Ourselves at the Alabama Cattlemen's Convention, National Wild Turkey Federation Banquet, & Alabama Young Farmers Conference
We have lots of fun things coming up in the last three weekends of the month & I'm stoked to spend some time with friends that we don't get to see regularly!
My goal is to finish up all of the things on this list during the weeks so that our weekends can be fun-filled and relaxing!

Well, those are my goals for the remainder of February...what are yours?
Here's to making the best of each day and reaching our goals!

Until next time. . .

Valentine's Day Gift Guide

Some of the links below are affiliate links. Thank you for using these in support of Southern & Style at no additional cost to you!
Happy February, y'all!
Did anyone else feel like January lasted 409 days, or was that just me?
Anyway, we're here into a fresh month and I couldn't be more excited because we have so many fun things coming up this month AND it's the month of love, too!

Who am I kidding, I love my husband, my kid, my life, and myself every single day ?
But anything is a good excuse to treat yourself or those around you, or if your significant other could use some help in the gifting department you can just send the link to this post right on over to him, easy peasy!
I just wanted to take a few minutes to round up some cute Valentine's Day feeling things that would be fun to receive or to gift, so please check them out and let me know what you love, love, love! ?

I am a big lover of Fiestaware and I honestly have pretty much started to collect it ever since Christopher & I got married. If I had more room, I would totally request these cute bowls for my collection! I think they would be adorable serving in or just having a fun soup or stew for dinner.
These earrings are so precious & I think they would be fun for Valentine's Day but also for all Spring & Summer long...plus they are currently marked down to under $20!
Nail polishes are such a fun and inexpensive way to treat your friends-this one is a bright, poppy pink that would be perfect for nails or toes going into the warmer months.
I'm a huge fan of Lilly and especially their new Valentine's Day print!
This would be the perfect gift for someone who just wants to have a cozy and low-key Valentine's Day-or a new mom, that would be so sweet!
This is such a trendy brand right now & I have heard such good things about this product.
If you are buying for someone who loves pampering themselves and good skincare, this would definitely be a winning product!
This is the cutest insulated champagne flute I have ever seen!
I love the glittery pink (but it comes in tons of colors!) and I haven't even told you the best part-it holds up to a half bottle of champagne, so you don't have to worry about your bubbly going flat and getting warm.
I am honestly wearing this as I put this post together, that's how much I really love and use this product! It's only $8 from Ulta, so it's an awesome buy for those on a budget.
I love how thick and hydrating it is, perfect for February since we still have lots of cold weather left before Spring.
I love these zip around jewelry cases, so handy for trips or just storing your everyday jewelry in.
The initials on top are the icing on the cake, everyone will know who's is who's!
This has been on my Amazon wishlist for forever, maybe I should just spoil myself for Valentine's Day and pick it up for me?
In all seriousness though, I have heard nothing but good things from this book & I love Reese so much-I think this would be a great buy for any reader or any Southern gal!
I think these are just precious & are under $8, making them the perfect ones to grab for yourself and all of your girlfriends to take cute pictures with on Galentine's Day!
I love a good personalized gift & I love a good cheeseboard, coincidence? I think not.
This is the cutest gift and would be perfect for newlyweds, too!
Talk about perfection!
I love the initials, the fringe, and the color of this heart keychain...but even better? I love the under $20 price tag!
This would look awesome on a bag, too.

All of these are wonderful gift ideas, but also I just wanted to remind you that it's important to show the ones you love that you love them all year long. It doesn't have to be with expensive (or even inexpensive) gifts, but maybe just time spent with them, a nice note, or a surprise chore or errand that you took care of!
Until next time. . .

Empties [No.8]

Some of the links below are affiliate links. Thank you for using these in support of Southern & Style at no additional cost to you!
It feels like it has been so long since I've shared an Empties post over here on the blog, but I'm so glad to finally give y'all my mini-reviews on these products & get them out of my sight!
If you've never read a post like this before, basically I collected all the products I've used up over the past few months (beauty products and also soaps/candles) and then before I toss them all I share whether they were good or bad, etc. so that if you were planning on picking them up you can make an informed decision about them!
This soap is so, so good y'all! It smells bright and citrus but also has notes of almost a bergamot scent too. It's almost a little masculine which I really like. Definitely one of my favorite soaps & I also really like the blue bottle-it's really pretty on a counter!
I have to admit, I only bought this soap from B&BW because it was on major sale & I needed some hand soaps for the end of Summer. It doesn't smell that great, too much strawberry for my tastes and I hated the label. It did the job of getting our hands clean though.
This is one of my favorite Summer scents; it's a fresh and clean scent that reminds me of a warm towel down on the boat dock. I don't love the label on this one, but the scent made it worth the buy.
I absolutely loved this scent of hand soap & more than that, I absolutely loved the label on this hand soap! I think the black pumps look a little nicer & the label itself was very clean and just fits in with my style. I will definitely repurchase this scent in the future.
I really enjoy almond scented things so this hand soap was no different. It's an excellent in-between season soap and the label is another really beautiful one that fits with the aesthetic of my home.
I picked this up on a whim from Sephora & honestly I really, really enjoyed it.
It has the best scent/taste, just like lemon bars! I have to say, it's probably good for my lips during any time of year other than Winter. It just wasn't hydrating enough to keep them from getting chapped in this dry and cold weather we've been having.
Fresh Sugar Lip Caramel
This was my first foray into Fresh lip products, from a Sephora Play! box. It smells/tastes so, so yummy. I loved it so much. It isn't quite as moisturizing as I need right now, but I definitely will repurchase when my lips aren't so desperate.
Aquaphor Immediate Relief Lip Repair
I have had some severely chapped lips lately with the cooler, dry Winter weather and my EOS balms just weren't cutting it. I went through an entire container of this Aquaphor and it really worked miracles on my lips. Now I keep one of these by my chair in the living room, in my truck, etc. because I really need them on hand always.
This is just one of my all-time favorite B&BW candles, it's slightly sweet and a little smokey-just like toasting a marshmallow over a campfire!
I've had this candle for a long time & just needed to finish burning it.
It honestly burned really well, all the way to the bottom. However you can see that from the top of the candle it was really sooty and the scent wasn't that strong. They do come packaged really beautifully though!
I love the smell of this body wash for Charlie, but he couldn't use it for a long time because he was sensitive. When he was finally able to use it, I just wanted to drink it in! It has the most soothing lavender scent that I just love. I try to stick to more natural things for him, but he does have a couple more bottles from his baby shower I'll be using for sure.
Heck, I'd buy this to use for myself it smells so good!
When Charlie was born he had very sensitive skin & we stuck to fragrance free products for all of his bathing needs. Aveeno Baby is really one of the only brands that makes most of their items fragrance free and I absolutely love that!
This wash has colloidal oatmeal in it, so it's soothing to the baby's skin in case they get irritated.
I'm a big fan of gifting Aveeno Baby products to new moms, too because they are perfect for newborn babies.
Charlie has to have a true baby shampoo because of his long and thick hair. I like that this one is soap & fragrance free, hypoallergenic, as well as tear-free.
He's currently using another brand, but I would definitely buy this one for him again. I've also purchased it for baby shower gifts because it's so gentle!
I picked up this shampoo because I wanted something volumizing without leaving buildup on my hair. I wouldn't say it added much volume, but I also wouldn't say that it left buildup, so I guess that's good. It does smell good, so that's a plus.
I absolutely love B&BW shower gels. They smell amazing, they last forever, and you can typically find them on super sale during their semi-annual sales.
I've had this one for the longest time because you just have to use the smallest amount.
I love this scent & wish they would bring back this entire "southern" line. It was my favorite!
I really, really enjoyed this deodorant and the fact that it went on clear and didn't leave behind any residue. I changed a few years ago to only spray deodorants and don't want to ever go back because they are so much easier to apply!
After I used up the Radha Retinol, I was looking forward to pulling this out of the cabinet and trying it out too. Unfortunately, you have to be careful with retinol products (& any skincare products, really) because they will turn bad and you have to watch the expiration date. This one unfortunately expired before I got a chance to use it.
I really, really enjoyed this retinol moisturizer. I used it morning & night and really felt helped keep my skin bright & hydrated. I love using a retinol and will probably repurchase this one because it's an awesome price! Note, the packaging has changed since I bought this one-but I like the new packaging even more!
I loved this scent as a soap & I loved it as a wallflower, too. It's just a warm, yet fresh scent that smells great any time of year.
This was the wallflower I used during the end of October in November. It's a warm, cinnamon-y apple scent that wasn't too overpowering. I enjoyed this one a lot!
This is a good in-between seasons wallflower because it just smells clean, truly like fresh laundry.
I need to pick up more of this scent!
I want to preface this review by telling you that this lotion smells amazing, so if that's what you're going after then this could be for you!
However, since purchasing a lot of moisturizers that I need to go through, I've learned what is the best for my skin & after I use these up I'm going to focus on better quality moisturizers instead of just ones that smell really nice.
In the Winter, my skin is just too dry to only count on this kind of lotion to work.
This is probably a slightly better lotion than the Hempz because at least it doesn't contain any fragrance, however it still is mostly water and doesn't fully hydrate my skin.
I did enjoy having this on hand during the Summer for days after I had gotten bug bites because it was soothing for those, however.
I've got so, so many perfume samples that I'm trying to use the ones that are cluttering my drawer up before I purchase or use up another full size spray or perfume.
This particular one smells so good.
It's very warm & feminine at the same time and honestly is perfect for this time of year going into Spring.
This perfume/cologne/whatever it is smells so heavenly. This is my all-time favorite out of these four that I used up. It smells so citrus-y, but warm and cozy at the same time. I wish I could buy this right now!
Okay, so I was pretty excited to have a sample of Twilly after hearing one of my favorite YouTubers talk about loving it so much. However, I don't think for me that it lived up to the Hermes hype.
It's a warm, floral scent that I think for me smells good, but is a little more mature than I'm ready to lean at the moment. This would be a good pick for the 40 and up crowd, which makes sense because Hermes is a high-end brand that is mostly catered to the ladies who can afford that!
This wasn't my all-time favorite perfume I've used lately. It smells very floral & fruity, but in a way that just wasn't pleasing to my nose. In as much as Twilly was mature, this one felt very young to me. I'm definitely somewhere in the middle!
After we came back from vacation I had some travel sized products to use up and this was one of them that didn't have enough left for a full trip.
This shampoo smells amazing, I would buy it for that fact alone.
This is definitely a shampoo I would purchase after I run out of my current one!
I had this as a gift-with-purchase and stuck it in the shower to test it out. But y'all, I don't like this product at all. That's hard for me to say because I love Clinique products, but not this one.
I've heard that foaming cleansers aren't good for your skin because they dry them out and this one lived up to that. It also made my skin feel "squeaky" clean which I don't like.
This was a very strong & sweet scent from B&BW. It was a gift from someone, so I didn't pick it out-but it wasn't bad. I had a little bit of a cold a month ago and so I kept this on hand to use after blowing my nose or whatever, in hopes of keeping the other people in my house healthy-guess it worked because no on else got sick!
When I say this is the best smelling hand sanitizer that I've ever used, I'm not kidding!
This was a gift from one of my students & I kept it in Charlie's bag. I was so sad to see it go because I haven't been able to find it in store lately. If you see this, grab it!
I LOVE this product so much!
If you want to buy a product that will 100% make a difference in your skin, this is the one I recommend.
Every time I feel like I have dark spots, acne scarring, texture, etc. pop up this is the product I pull out of the closet and use.
It only takes a few times for me to see a major difference.
I will say, you need to be careful & test it out to see how your skin will react (as you should do with all new skincare), but since this is an acid peel this is very important.
It works so well for me though with 0 irritation.
Neutrogena Cleansing Wipes
If you've been around here for very long, you know it's not an empties post if there isn't at least one of these packs in it. However, I'm really trying to do better about using up the cleansers that I have and until I use up my current micellar water I'm not going to purchase anymore of these. I do miss them from time to time though, when I just want something easy and fast to take my makeup off with!
I am such a sucker for the sheet mask aisle at Ulta!
But I do really like the Tony Moly masks, they usually have a good amount of serum on them and they fit well. This one was supposed to be soothing so I wore it after having a bout with dry skin and I really felt like it did hydrate and soothe my skin. It was also really relaxing!
This was the birthday gift from Ulta last year & y'all-I'm obsessed and wish it wasn't so darn expensive! I tend to save my nicest face masks for when I have an event or such and this was used the day of our family pictures that we put on our Christmas card.
I really think it plumped my skin & really hydrated it. I would highly recommend this if you want to treat yourself or someone you love!
So I really wanted to love this lip mask because I love the under eye masks below.
However, I think I tried it at the wrong time (when my lips were really, really chapped) because it burned my lips. I would give it one more chance to see how my lips reacted when they were not chapped.
Sometimes Bath & Body Works sends out the free product coupon and if I'm by the store when I have one, I typically try to go cash it in. These little masks are some of my favorites to pick up because I love a good under eye mask, I felt like this one was really soothing and just hydrated my under eye area a little bit. Did it do anything Earth shattering? No, but it did feel really relaxing and nice!
I was so stoked to receive this in a Sephora Play! box, but honestly it fell a little flat for me.
I didn't see the hype and have other foundations that I like better, even some from the drugstore seem to work better or just as good as this one.
I was sent this from Influenster to try & I'm glad they sent it to me because otherwise I probably wouldn't have picked it up. I loved the packaging-very different & eye catching.
The wand itself was pretty good as well as the formula of the mascara.
It was a good basic, everyday mascara although nothing I couldn't live without.
If you're just wanting something to darken lashes & separate them, this could be a good match for you.
This is one of my all-time favorite concealers and I've actually heard that it's a dupe for the Tarte ShapeTape that everyone raves about!
It only costs $7 at Ulta (& you can use coupons on it!) and it only takes a little bit so it lasts forever. Totally will repurchase!
Wander Glowtion Lotion Illuminator
This was a Sephora Play! box find that I was impressed with, for what it was.
This is a lotion you can wear on your own or under makeup, it's supposed to give a nice subtle glow & highlight. It worked really beautifully, especially for days when I didn't want to wear any other makeup. There are a few other products I'm testing out now that I think I like more, but this one is really nice, too!
Benefit The Pore-Fessional Primer
I found this in a Sephora Play! box, too and fell in love with it. I only use this primer on my t-zone (just the areas where I have very pronounced pores) and it does it's job there. I love how it just blurs my pores so that makeup doesn't sink in and I feel like I get less oily on days when I wear this primer, too. I purchased it in the full-size!
This was a sample in one of my Sephora Play! boxes that I really truly enjoyed. It felt so nice and hydrating on my skin and smelled so clean and fresh. I would definitely purchase this full-size after I clear out my moisturizer stash.
I was really excited to try out a sample of this Drunk Elephant product in one of my Sephora Play! boxes, however I wasn't blown away. It was good, don't get me wrong, but I didn't love it enough to justify the price. I think the Belif cream is even better for a slightly better price.
This was another Sephora Play! find & I was so excited to test out another Algenist product because I love their Liquid Collagen, however this just didn't live up to the hype for me.
When I tried Liquid Collagen, it only took a small sample for me to see a huge difference. I used this whole little tub and really saw no difference at all.
L'Oreal Ever Fresh Micro-Exfoliating Scrub
I picked this up at Ulta over a year ago now & finally used it up.
I've had some issues with buildup from shampoos & hair products and wanted something to really detox and scrub my scalp when I was having that feeling.
However, I don't think this product helped all that much. It smells amazing, but maybe my hair is just too thick or something, but it just doesn't scrub my scalp well enough for me to repurchase.

Whew, that was a marathon of reviews!
I hope y'all enjoyed this and found something useful from it...if you've tried any of these products, let me know what your thoughts are below.

Until next time. . .
